LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD is the next installment of the Bruce Willis action genre. Again he is playing rouge cop John McClane who is trying to stop a genius hacker from shutting down the computer infrastructure in the U.S. Timothy Olyphant and Justin Long of TV’s Apple and Mac commercials help out. 20th Century Fox.
PIRATES OF THE CARIBEAN: AT WORLD’S END is number three in the series of Johnny Depp swashbuckling epics. Chinese star Chow Yun Fat is rescued from a trap by Jack Sparrow and his friends Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly. Dastardly Geoffrey Rush is no help. Gore Verbinski directed. Walt Disney Pictures.
EVAN ALMIGHTY stars Morgan Freeman as God in this sequel to ‘Bruce Almighty.” He returns to earth to give orders to uptight congressman Steve Carell to build an ark and fill it with all creatures. Sound familiar? With John Goodman, Lauren Graham and John Michael Higgens. Universal.
HOT ROD takes to the track and exciting action when Andy Samberg jumps 15 buses to raise money for his abusive step-father’s heart operation. Lots of thrills and emotions. Ian McShane plays Andy’s dad. With Isla Fisher, Sissy Spacek. Paramount.
OCEAN’S THIRTEEN brings those naughty boys back from “Ocean’s Eleven” to get into more mischief. Matt Damon, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt return with Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia and Casey Affleck in the caper of the century. Ellen Barkin adds to the crew. Warner Bros.
PARIS, JE T’AIME takes a look at life in the City of Light through the eyes of 21 international directors such as Gus Van Sant, Wes Craven and Alphonso Cuaron. In the vignettes is a terrific cast consisting of stars such as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Willem DaFoe, Bob Hoskins, Fanny Ardant. First Look Pictures.
MR. BROOKS stars Kevin Costner as an upstanding citizen who has an alter ego (William Hurt) who likes to kill people. Neighbor Dane Cook attempts to blackmail him. But Brooks must use his dual natures to avoid the police. MGM.
